Going by the name Amber in real life, I am a 30 year-old mother
of two living in Central California. Having graduated cum laude with a
degree in accounting, I now spend my days working in education management as a director for a private college, helping graduates find fulfilling jobs and start their lives as professionals.
With a full time job, two kids, a
crazy pug, and a marriage to maintain, life can get a little crazy
sometimes. The Cozy Life is my way of sharing my life's adventures through articles on pregnancy, parenting, postpartum health, green living, marriage, and the struggles I face: being a working mother; having stepchildren; weight loss after baby; and managing stress.
A Few Fun Facts
- I am mostly of Irish decent, with Cherokee thrown in for flavor. My husband is Portuguese - again, for flavor.
- I'm a proud nerd. Ask me anything Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Marvel and DC Comics, Harry Potter, Narnia, or Games of Thrones (TV and novels) and I'll answer it... correctly. I'm planning to raise my children in my dorky image.
- I'm a massive worrier - I won't call it anxiety, but if there's a potential negative outcome to ANYTHING, I'm worrying about it.
- During my first pregnancy, I really wanted a daughter, but had a son. When I found out that my second child was a daughter, I couldn't imagine raising a child that wasn't a son... Go figure.
- I can decorate a cake with the best of them - I know how to use fondant, stack layers, sculpt people and animals - So much so, that I almost started a small business. In the end, I went back to school for my degree instead.
- The name of the blog is actually based on my last name, which start with C-O-Z. A friend of my husband called him "Cozy" once and it just stuck.
